It stayed upright throughout transport

It was on its side or substantially tipped
Put it upright and leave it there before plugging in. If the manual does not specify a waiting period, it is prudent to allow the unit to stand upright for a period before plugging in so internal refrigeration-system fluids can settle; follow the manual if it calls for a specific time. You are not sure how it was carried
Treat the orientation as uncertain: keep the machine upright, do not rush to plug it in, and follow the restart direction for the correct model.
Once it is ready to operate, place it on a flat surface with the clearance specified in its manual. One manual calls for 4 inches of clearance on all sides, but spacing requirements can vary by model.
Arrival inspection before filling or running a cycle
Before reconnecting power, remove the transport tray or bin and make a quick inspection part of setup:
- Check the front, sides, back panel, and base for fresh moisture or drips.
- Inspect the drain closure and the area around it.
- Check any model-specific hose or fitting, if present.
- Confirm the appliance is level and the removable parts are dry and correctly seated.
- Make sure the cord, plug, outlet area, and nearby power strips are dry.
